OOO #17: Outfits, Ohio, and Other Things I Like
Something I can't change, my favorite neighbor, and Easter decorations

Ohio
Now that the weather’s warming up, I get to see my favorite neighbor more often—this very good pup:
I first met this A+ dog while walking home from work, and now anytime I’m nearby, I always check to see if she’s hanging out. I count it as a sign of good luck when she is, and no matter where I’m going and what I have to do, I always stop to say hi.
My favorite part: it sometimes takes her a few seconds to recognize me, but when she does, she gets a case of zoomies and runs around her backyard in a circle and then nearly leaps over the fence to say hello. It doesn’t even bother me if I get mud on my clothes anymore; she always puts me in a better mood. Basically, I highly recommend making friends with dogs in your neighborhood.
Maybe I should also just get a dog.
Other Things I Like
A couple of months ago, my husband and I went to Sur La Table to take a cooking class (highly recommend it if you are an amateur cook and want to try something new and adventurous), and on the way out, I was totally tricked into buying an excessive amount of Easter Decorations with Sur La Table’s post-class discount.
Okay, fine, I wasn’t tricked. Capitalism wins again.
Easter is one of my favorite holidays for many reasons, but the aesthetic alone makes me very happy. I know Miranda Priestly holds the opinion that “florals for spring” is not a particularly groundbreaking concept, but I love this little floral print that Sur La Table created for their Easter collection.

I am a big fan of prints being of a whole object (e.g. a whole flowered plant with stems and leaves, a tiger) rather than just a motif (just a flower, tiger stripes), so of course I ended up buying this pattern in everything it came in.
But I didn’t stop there: I also quickly picked up the above ridiculously delightful eggs and then the beautiful, fat Easter bunny bowl to put them in (my husband artfully placed the remainder of them in a vase).
The decorative eggs nicely echo those on the Easter wreath I bought from Target at the beginning of the pandemic. I love the rainbow pastel color palette, the smattering of polka dots, and the delicate ribbon it hangs from.
Last but not least, you may have spied a small porcelain bunny on the dinner table. I rescued this little guy from the clearance aisle of the Marshall’s in DCUSA in Columbia Heights. His little downturned ears give him such a pure expression, and I had to have him the second I saw him.
For years, I would never find him in time for Easter (I would either discover him the week after while putting the other decorations away or while I was decorating the Christmas tree), so now he lives full time in my china cabinet.
I suppose I wrote all of that to say, I’m really into decorating for Easter, and I can be easily swayed to buy something floral, cute, or spotted. Especially with a discount.
By the time you read this, we’ll be halfway through Holy Week, and I’ll be readying myself for my favorite Easter tradition: hiding pastel foil chocolate eggs around my house for my husband to find! Happy Easter, y’all. Also, it’s my birthday. :)
That’s it! Have a great rest of your week!
Of course, happy, happy birthday, and I noticed your egg wreath right away!
