What is OOO?

OOO stands for Outfits, Ohio, and Other Things I Like. OOO (read as “three Os”) is a brief, free newsletter where I share three things: a comment someone has made about my outfit, something in my new home (aka the heart of the midwest) that makes me feel more at home, and a recommendation for anything that I’ve found delightful in the last two weeks. I’ve recently added a fourth section called “Old News,” which is a collection of short media (think reels, news articles, podcasts, memes) I’ve liked in the last two weeks.

Outfits

One of my favorite things to do each day is plan my outfit. People at work seem to have a lot of opinions on said outfits and have no problem telling me how good (read: bad) of a job I did getting dressed. Most of the comments are cutting and clever, and therefore hilarious. For example…

“That skirt makes you look like a broom”

I find these comments deeply amusing, and I hope you do to.

Ohio

I moved to Ohio a little over a year ago after nine years of living in DC, and I’ve found that finding my rhythm in a new place after having such strong roots in another is a lot trickier than I expected. The Ohio section of OOO is a way for me to share the things that have made me feel more at home.

Other Things I Like

I have a lot of opinions on food, fashion, art, politics, TV, pop culture, foreign policy, Shakespeare, the diamond industry (okay, I have an opinion on nearly everything), and in the “Other Things I Like” section, I’ll share the best thing I’ve encountered all week. I personally prefer to try things after they’ve been recommended by someone I trust (I’m working on being more adventurous!), so this is my way of paying it forward.

Overall

It’s a short, relaxing break halfway through the week outside of traditional social media.

Note about proofreading

I am very, very bad about proofreading my own work (albeit very, very good at proofreading the work of others). If you catch a typo, enjoy it! I don’t want to know and probably won’t change it!
